Who we are:
Off the Vine San Diego is a social group of young wine novices & enthusiasts. We enjoy sharing our passion for wine with our fellow wine loving friends and take pride in breaking down the cultural walls that have mystified this wonderful beverage for too long. Our main purpose is to celebrate the love of wine and the art of wine making together in a welcoming and social environment.

Events:
We organize & offer various events throughout the year, and have a dedicated following of hip, active, wine lovers. Our leadership and volunteers take pride in creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at events that encourages wine exploration & education. At a typical Off the Vine SD event, you’ll find attendees discussing the wines, the food, the event location — basically a lot of socializing. The hosting venue often dictates the maximum attendance size, but normally we have around 75+ members per event. Attendance cost varies by event as well, but we try to keep the price to around $15-$20 per person for a typical wine tasting. We offer four different types of events:

• Wine Tastings, which consists of wine samplings and education. Light hors d’oeuvres are also usually served to complement the wines.
• Wine Dinners, to further the wine experience by pairing wines with various cuisines. Our aim is to experiment with different pairings and dispel the myths that only certain wines go with certain foods. A representative of the wines served, as well the restaurant Chef will discuss the pairings in more detail.
• Happy Hours, held at local venues and considered ‘free’ events, where featured wines are offered (pay by the glass) discounted to Off the Vine San Diego members.
• Off the Vine Weekend Winos, get ready to wine a bit all weekend! We will be taking our members on weekend wine tasting trips, visiting vineyards throughout southern California.
